Turks and Caicos is home to many fantastic restaurants, and we've sampled quite a few. However, we always find ourselves returning to the casual dining gems. For a quick fajita and margarita, Skull Rock is a must-visit. If you're craving delicious fried chicken, don't miss Sweet T's on your way back from Sapodilla Bay. For great food in a relaxed atmosphere, Providenciales offers plenty of excellent options.
These are our favorite casual Turks and Caicos restaurants:
Mango Reef is a must-try for any Providenciales traveler seeking a casual, authentic dining experience. This local gem, nestled in the picturesque Turtle Cove Marina, offers delicious food and an unbeatable outdoor ambiance. Enjoy stunning sunset views while savoring your meal as boats glide by. We highly recommend asking for Yolanda, an exceptional server who enhances the overall experience. Note: Mango Reef is closed on Thursdays during Fish Fry.
Turk's Kebab is a beloved local eatery conveniently situated on the main road leading to Grace Bay. This authentic Turkish restaurant has garnered a loyal following among both residents and visitors alike. Turk's Kebab offers a welcoming atmosphere where you can unwind and savor delicious flavors, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a casual meal.
The Deck at Seven Stars Resort is an absolute must-visit for any trip to Providenciales. With its stunning Grace Bay Beach views and delectable menu, it's no wonder we return time and again. Whether you're craving a casual lunch of ahi tuna wrap and jerk wings or a romantic dinner under the stars, The Deck delivers. Its versatile space can accommodate groups of all sizes, from couples enjoying the bar to larger parties dining under the canopy. Don't miss this iconic Turks and Caicos dining experience.
Skull Rock Cantina, a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of Grace Bay, offers an unforgettable fusion of lively atmosphere and authentic Latin flavors. Renowned for their sizzling fajitas, a tantalizing medley of meats or vegetables served with a generous array of fresh toppings, the cantina has become a local favorite. Beyond the culinary delights, Skull Rock Cantina boasts an extensive drink menu, ensuring there's something to quench every thirst. The best part though, is the staff. They are lovely and excited to make your experience there the best it can be.
Shay Cafe, a beloved local spot in La Vele Plaza across from Salt Mills in Grace Bay, offers a delightful escape from the ordinary. Owned and operated by a Canadian couple who traded cold winters for the warmth of Providenciales, the cafe specializes in mouthwatering breakfast and lunch fare. Start your day right with their signature breakfast sandwich, featuring a perfect blend of egg, bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and spicy mayo, before embarking on a snorkeling adventure at Smith's Reef. And don't miss their legendary banana bread!
The Terrace at Seven Stars Resort is our go-to spot for sports, great food, and exceptional service. Manager Gil and his team create a welcoming atmosphere that makes us feel right at home. Enjoy a variety of upscale bar food options, from classic burgers and fresh salads to flavorful nachos and comforting pasta dishes. Pair your meal with a cold draft beer from their impressive selection. Whether you're cheering on your favorite team or simply relaxing with friends, The Terrace is the perfect place to unwind.
Sweet T's is a local institution you can't miss when in Providenciales. Conveniently located at the first roundabout, it's a quick and affordable option for both arriving and departing travelers. This no-frills spot offers a unique ordering system based on dollar amounts. For example, a $5 order includes four jumbo chicken wings, fries, and a soda. Their $10 basket, featuring 15 jumbo wings, is a popular choice. Be prepared for a bustling lunch crowd and a straightforward approach from the staff.
Noori, the stylish sushi and Asian fusion restaurant nestled within the Ritz-Carlton's stunning lobby, offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. Its idyllic outdoor setting overlooking the resort's lush grounds and pristine beach creates a serene ambiance perfect for savoring exceptional cuisine. Noori's menu boasts a diverse array of fresh sushi rolls and innovative fusion dishes. Their tuna and salmon nigiri are simply divine – so much so that we believe our frequent requests inspired their addition to the menu. The impeccable service, friendly staff, and creative cocktails complete the perfect evening.
Somewhere Cafe is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Coral Gardens. This beachfront oasis offers a perfect blend of casual dining, vibrant entertainment, and breathtaking views. Whether you're fueling up for a snorkeling adventure or enjoying a relaxed afternoon, Somewhere Cafe has you covered. Savor their delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, from addictive "dirty fries" to fresh fish sandwiches, while soaking up the sun and enjoying live music on Wednesdays,Fridays, and Sundays.
We find ourselves at Las Brisas at least once every time we visit TCI. If you're spending the day at Sapodilla or Taylor Bay, it's a convenient spot to grab a bite and a cocktail The views from Las Brisas overlooking Chalk Sound are absolutely breathtaking. There's a beach for you to swim in the sound (no motorized vehicles allowed). And there's also a pool for customers. Did I mention there's a pool?! This place is so much fun!
Bonus Casual Restaurant Options:
Pizza Pizza was a pleasant surprise when our son was island fooded-out. It's honestly one of the best brick-oven pizzas we've had in a long time. And we are from New York! But there is a great menu, with pizza by the slice or if you have a crew, they have small, medium, large, or extra-large sizes to accommodate your party. There are a lot of other things to accompany your meal, like garlic knots and wings. Located in the Grace Bay Plaza, it's a great option to then head over to Island Scoop for some ice cream.
Da Conch Shack is great option if you're in Blue Hills shelling or taking a walk as it's on the beach. The food literally comes right out of the ocean. But there are also ribs, chicken and steak all with an island flare. They don't forget their vegetarian dishes too. The best nights are Junkanoo Wednesdays, mellow live music Sundays, and lively dance music Fridays. It's a great place to watch the sun set as well.
If you're over by The Sands or The Palms, Bay Bistro is a great bar and restaurant right on the beach. We usually park in the public beach access and walk in to get a drink or a snack and head to the beach. It sits in on our favorite part of Grace Bay, just around the point, it's protected from any ocean disturbances. The water couldn't be calmer or more clear. Grab your favorite drink and go sit in the sand.
Happy Eating!
